The freestanding tub drain rough-in kit allows you to simply drop the tub into the floor without gluing the tub downspout. This applicable scenario requires making a suitable hole in the bottom layer according to the independent bathtub drainage body, and connecting the drainage pipe to the D-W-V system. The metal drain pipe is then attached to the tub, and the pipe is greased and dropped into the product.
The package included in this kit comprises: an OD:9-3/8" Freestanding tub drain body, a 1-1/2 in. x 7.7 in. flanged tailpiece, a 1-1/2 in. x 8 in. threaded tailpiece, a slip joint nut, a lip joint washer, a 1-1/2 in. PVC Sch. 40 threaded tailpiece adapter, a 1-1/2 in. x 2 in. Sch. 40 PVC adapter, and the required screws to secure the adapter.
To install the flooring surface, you need to make a suitable hole in the bottom layer based on the independent bathtub drainage body, connect the drainage body to the drainage pipe, and seal it. Next, remove the test plug and carefully lower the installed bathtub, ensuring that the tail piece fully engages with the seal during assembly.
This Freestanding Tub Rough Kit is the best way to install a freestanding tub. It is secured between the subfloor and surface tiles for added security and stability, with the tail of the bathtub fixed in place by multiple push fit rings, forming a waterproof seal. This effectively prevents water backflow and potential odor.
